What is pigeon needle strip?

Pigeon needle strips are commercial products that you place on the ledges of your home or outbuilding to deter pigeons (and other birds) from landing. Even though a pigeon sitting on the edge of your home may seem innocent enough, you never know when that bird is going to take a fancy to your space, and it may decide to make that ledge a permanent roost. To prevent this, needle strips can be applied to the ledges of buildings. These strips are like long strips of cord with tall, thin metal needles that criss-cross upwards. When a bird comes to land on the ledge, it will find no space to land and will have to go elsewhere. Despite how it sounds, bird spikes aren't actually intended to kill or injure birds. In fact, pigeon spikes aren't intended to touch birds at all, only to create an environment that is unappealing to a flight animal.
